Yoga: Science of Self Discovery - Yoga is much more than moving and stretching the physical body (asana). Through the movement and stretching, we connect with our physical body. As we connect with the physical body through asana, we begin to quiet the mind. Through quieting the mind, we begin to learn more about who we are....really who we are, not just the physical aspect, but the spiritual aspect. We find out that we are more than a mother, a father, a sister, a brother, a business person, medical practitioner, a grocery store clerk.....we connect with the real self. Tantra: Science of Energy - Tantra is the practice of moving energy. We move energy through pranayama (yogic breath work), asana, mudras, even intention (remember the button on the string). The study of the chakras and nadis is part of tantra. We learn that when we quiet the mind, we begin to feel our life force energy moving through the body. The energy can feel tingly, wavelike, flowing, or swirling...or all of the above. We even learn how to direct that energy. As we move energy through our own energetic system, we evolve spiritually. Ayurveda: Science of Life (Longevity) - Whereas yoga and tantra are about spiritual aspects, Ayurveda focuses on the physical body, controlling emotions such as anxiety, anger, depression and obtaining optimum health for a long happy life.
