Anxiety Relief through Yoga

Anxiety is a reaction to stress. There is a growing evidence of the effects anxiety has on health.

According to Harvard Medical School, research is showing the relationship between anxiety and chronic physical illnesses, such as heart disease, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), irritable bowel syndrome, functional dyspepsia (upset stomach) and migraine headaches.

Harvard Medical School suggests, the longer you practice the following 6 relaxation techniques to reduce stress, the greater the benefits:

1) Breath focus 2) Body scan 3) Guided imagery. 4) Mindfulness meditation 5) Yoga, tai chi, qigong 6) Repetitive prayer
