Mid-Winter Yogic Cleanse

Renew, Replenish, Become Present!

February is the ideal time for a Mid-Winter Yogic Cleanse.  This month is named after the Roman "Februalia", which was a monthlong festival of purification and atonement.

Our Mid-Winter Yogic Cleanse is a 6 week yoga session beginning Wed., Feb. 6 and runs through the first day of Spring, March 20.   (No class Feb. 13)

A yogic cleanse goes further than cleansing the physical body.  We can hold patterns of thought (samskara) that may not be beneficial to us.  In Patanjali's, yoga sutra 1.2, Patanjali tells us ‘Yogaschitta vritti nirodhah’, meaning, yoga is to still the ‘fluctuations’ of the mind.  Fluctuations of the mind keep us from being in the present moment.

Our Mid-Winter Yogic Cleanse will include cleansing breathwork & yoga asana, in a meditative setting to help us calm the mind's fluctuations and open the way to change unwanted, possibly outdated, patterns of thought.

In addition to a weekly yoga practice, participants will learn yogic and Ayurvedic cleansing techniques that can easily be incorporated into a daily routine.

Week 1 - Learning to Let Go

An integral part of cleansing is letting go of attachments and beliefs that keep us from living with lightness and ease.

Week 2 - Cultivating Contentment

We learn to remain balanced in the midst of letting go.

Week 3 - Optimizing Digestion

From the Ayurvedic prospective, optimal digestion is essential for health and healing.

Week 4 - Balancing the 5 Elements

When the elements are balanced, we experience integration and harmony at all levels of being.

Week 5 - Unshakable Trust

A renewed enthusiasm for living!

Week 6 - Tranquility - A Purified Mind

"Dharmadhatu" refers to "purified mind", free of conditioning.  Cultivate an experience of serenity.
