iRest® Yoga Nidra Meditation, or Integrative Restoration, is a modern-day secular adaptation of the ancient meditative practice of Yoga Nidra.  It is a form of self-inquiry that research shows effectively reduces PTSD, depression, anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, and chemical dependency; while increasing health, resiliency, and well-being. iRest® Meditation provides us with guidelines for going beyond our self-limiting beliefs and conditions.  Its practice allows us to break free of restrictive patterns, and to live a contented life, free of conflict, anxiety, fear, dissatisfaction, and suffering.

iRest® nourishes noble qualities such as joy, peacefulness, empathy, forgiveness, patience, and lovingkindness towards yourself and others.

iRest® Yoga Nidra Meditation is a form of Mindfulness Meditation.  It is like a deep sleep, during which the brain enters the states of dream and dreamless sleep.

During iRest® we enter receptive states of deep relaxation and meditation, while remaining aware and alert.  iRest® reveals our innate intelligence and intrinsic clarity.  Its practice enables us to uncover and access our inherent wisdom, an intelligence that knows the exact revelations and solutions we need to address the issues and conundrums that we face in daily life.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS....

"I see the word "yoga" in the title, will we be doing pretzel bends?"  No. Yoga Nidra means, "sleep of the yogi".  The Yoga Sutra of Pantanjali defines Yoga as "stilling the mind" and Nidra in Sanskrit means "sleep".  This practice of iRest® Yoga Nidra is a relaxing, meditative practice that is performed either lying down or sitting in a chair.

"I cannot lie on the floor.  Can I sit in a chair?"  Yes. This meditative practice can be performed lying down or sitting in a chair.

"Do I need to bring a yoga mat?"  If you have a yoga mat, please bring it to the practice.  I also recommend bringing a pillow and/or blanket.  We will have yoga mats, blankets and pillows available at the studio for those who need them.

"I cannot make all the classes in the session.  Can I drop in?"  No.  This is a 6-week session.  There are no drop-ins allowed.
